Face masks are one of the best ways to pamper and correct your skin at the same time. They don’t have to be fancy or complicated to get the job done. We love aloe for its universal healing and moisturizing properties. You can use aloe vera gel, or pulverized aloe leaf as your base. Start with clean skin (just use your favorite Face Wash), and apply mask while your skin is still slightly damp. Here are some of our favorite DIY face mask recipes, separated by skin type:
OILY SKIN: Combine 2 tablespoons of aloe with 1 tablespoon of kaolin clay and 3 drops of essential tea tree. Smooth on face and leave for 10 minutes, then rinse and pat dry. Follow with and Essence if needed, and a moisturizer for your specific skin type
DRY SKIN: Mix 2 tablespoons of aloe with 1 teaspoon of rosehip seed oil (hemp seed and grapeseed are great alternatives). Apply to face and leave on for as long as you like. Rinse, then apply essence and moisturizer while skin is still damp. You can use a small hand fan to encourage products to absorb more quickly
IRRITATED OR INFLAMED SKIN: Blend 2 tablespoons of aloe with 1 drop of essential wintergreen. Smooth onto face and leave on for 5-10 minutes. Rinse and apply essence and moisturizer while your skin is still damp.
MATURE SKIN: Fold 1 tablespoon of Prickly Pear Oil and one tablespoon of rose clay into 2 tablespoons of aloe. Smooth onto face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse, then apply essence, serum and moisturizer to seal in the benefits.
