Oil pulling originates in India. The practice removes harmful bacteria from your mouth, alleviates bad breath, and helps prevent gingivitis. While you can technically use any oil for this practice, coconut oil is a favorite because it has anti-microbial properties, and it tastes pretty good.
DIRECTIONS:
- Put about a tablespoon of oil in your mouth
- Swish the oil around your mouth for about 15–20 minutes
- Spit out the oil, then brush your teeth
It’s best to oil pull on an empty stomach, and before brushing your teeth. You can even do it while you’re showering to save a little time.
